This is my dear friend Rachel and her lovely littles…o and her chickens Sunflower and, well I can’t remember the other sweetie’s name…If you are blessed enough to be a friend of Rachel’s you and your kids will never go hungry. Â She feeds all of the kids from her endless bag of assorted homemade food items. Â This is especially appreciated by mom’s like me who never cease to forget snacks! Â I do the photography for her mommie blog header and she trades me for herb starters for my garden. Â Among many other gifts, she is a freelance, published writer and you can see her work regularly at 6512 and growing, trust me, it is food for the soul, literally:<)
Here are a few snaps from our fall shoot!
Here is the article written about my photographs that appear in the Walt Disney film “Secretariat” on the first page of  the “Arts and Entertainment” section of the Durango Herald!!!  Thanks to Ted Holteen for his interest!

We just saw the film last night and it is really really good. It is an inspirational  heartwarmer.  And, you will totally connect on so many levels.  I could feel Diane Lane’s character, Penny Tweedy, love of her family and children and her struggle to follow her inner voice and just trying to balance it all!  Mom’s will totally feel it.  Go see it!  You will love it!  The whole audience clapped after the film last night, you just don’t see that happening at every movie.
Finally!!!!! I am able to release the name of the Walt Disney film that will be using several of my mountain landscape images!!!!!
Pixel Magic hired me to take Rocky Mountain landscapes to be used as a backdrop for several stills of the “Tweedy House” for the heartwarming movie “Secretariat”. Â These stills will be used 4 different times during the movie fading in and out to introduce scenes. Â The images you see here were “mocked up” or merged together before the house was superimposed in front of them. Â So Hollywood right? Â The house is actually meant to be in Littleton, Colorado (suburb of Denver) and Pixel Magic and Walt Disney Studios actually sent me to Denver as well to get the Denver peaks but ended up happy with the local mountains I took originally. Â I also took Spring and Twilight shots of the same locations you see here. Â You will see those as well in the film. Â Once the film is released I will be able to share the actual “mock ups.” Â But, here is a sneek peak of the locations used!!!
The movie is being released October 8!!!! Go see it and cheer for your local photographer!
